Educational World Design Team Moves from Virtual Office to Brick and...

Burnaby, B.C. (PRWEB) September 28, 2012

On the heels of signing major distributorship deals for its English Second Language immersion program for young children in Asia, Cackleberries has opened its new North American headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The North American division of the company—which handles development, programming, curriculum, and animation for their virtual world and virtual ESL school as well as all product design and development—has been working remotely for a long time. The team, which is used to holding its daily meetings via Skype chat, is thrilled to have a brand new 3,700 square foot office to call home.

One of the company’s game designers, Chris Worboys, said, “I am always amazed at the creativity that flows when a group of people work on something they are passionate about. On my first day in the new office I could feel that passion!”

When asked what she thinks about the new headquarters, Cackleberries CEO, Eronne Foster, said, “It’s been a long time coming and I’m so grateful to have such a great team who has been able to produce great products remotely. And, I have my own office now and I’m going to be there every day to support the team as we continue to build Oville and the new Math School.”

Until midnight September 30th, anyone who signs up for a free membership to Cackleberries.com will receive a free copy of Different and the Same, an early reader Kindle picture book featuring Cackleberries’ Variety International ambassador “Charitee.”

Cackleberries.com is a children’s edutainment (entertainment and education) company offering a website, animation, toys, games, music and more. Most importantly Cackleberries introduces young children, three to seven, to online education with a dedication to keeping them safe. Cackleberries protects children from the internet with the latest technology, provides family-friendly content, and never advertises to children. The living virtual world of Oville is a place for children to learn and play in a guaranteed safe environment.

Sheado.net Submits Furdiburb®, The Virtual Pet Game, to the 15th...

Orange, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2012

Sheado.net is entering Furdiburb, the #1 virtual pet game in the Google Play Store, into the Independent Game Festival. Not only is Furdiburb about virtual pet adoption, players are presented with adventure gameplay in which they must help their pet fix up a broken spaceship by playing mini-games and solving puzzles.

The Independent Games Festival (IGF) is an annual competition at the Game Developers Conference (the largest annual congregation of the independent video game industry) to help drive innovation and creativity for indie games.

Furdiburb might qualify for a lot of the categories at the IGF competition. Alice Lo's original musical compositions could be a contender in the Excellence in Audio award. In terms of innovation, Furdiburb's unique world and its cross-breed genre might garner attention for the Nuovo (innovation) Award. Other categories that will appeal to Furdiburb include: Best Mobile Game, Excellence in Visual Art, Excellence in Design, and the Audience Award.

Sheado.net is hoping Furdiburb gets some recognition for the creative way it combines the virtual pet with adventure and puzzle genres. The game also features beautiful 2D paper cut-out style artwork and quirky humor.

"Our game has been in beta for years!" exclaimed Chad Ata, co-founder and developer. "We've received tons of happy and angry emails which we've listened to as we designed our game to satisfy the extremely diverse audience that exists in Google Play. The result is a game that lets you play casually if you want or be the total adventure gamer that completes all the quests and solves all the puzzles. That's the main reason we didn't want to create a traditional virtual pet game."

"We know how well our game has resounded with our fans. This is what gives us a lot of hope that the judges at the IGF panel will recognize Furdiburb for its innovation and gameplay," said Danny Ata, co-founder and artist.

Furdiburb, the virtual pet, is currently in beta. Version 1.0 is slated for release in Winter 2012.
